Implementation of a Radar 2D Image with modulation OFDM for an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV)

Actualizado: 24 oct 2022

We present the development of a low-cost orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar system with multi-carrier in-band S in configuration 1x2 MIMO. For the generation of 2D images using the range doppler algorithm (RDA) with carrier control and phase adjustment OFDM to improve the spatial resolution of the radar images. The modulation OFDM applied to the radar systems offers improvements over systems that use modulation LFM at level spatial resolution through techniques like space diversity through MIMO array antennas, bandwidth control, and reduction of ambiguity range through the insertion of a cyclic prefix (CP). Therefore, its integration in microwave systems for images offers a high advantage in the resolution and synthesis of aperture. Furthermore, the radar system proposed is oriented to unmanned land vehicles (UGV) applications, which apply to the virtual antenna to increment the antenna aperture to reach a more effective measurement area.
